I just wanted to say a big thank you to the staff at Silvergreen vets in Wisbech. We have just today, collected the ashes of our gorgeous dog Lucy, after her life ended last weekend. The vet, and staff were so wonderful to us. A horrible, trumatic situation, that was dealt with professionally, and with total kindness. We will treasure her pawprint, and the card you sent us. Many, many thanks.

We attended this practice with our dog on a few occasions, each time all the staff including reception, nurses and veterinarian have gone above and beyond. Recently we had to say goodbye to our dear boy. The staff were amazing as we had never gone through anything like this before. I am so grateful for the kindness, respect and love they showed towards us and our dear dog. Such wonderful people. Thank you

Not at all impressed! We have been with Silvergreen since getting our dog nearly two years ago. We had always been happy with reception staff, nurses etc who are lovely. However....there was one vet who seemed to be clueless! English is not his first language and when results came back he obviously struggled to understand them and couldnt answer our questions. I ended up getting a copy of the results and sending them to a personal friend who is a vet and she explained it to me. Roll forward to last night. And this is where I'm REALLY not happy. Our dog managed to steal a mince pie. I immediately contacted our video vet that comes with our insurance, who confirmed it was an emergency and she needed to be seen by a vet immediately. I contact Silvergreen. Same vet was on call. HE DID NOT KNOW WHAT A MINCE PIE WAS!! Said pies were fine. Asked me if it was beef mince or lamb mince even after i told him it contained dried fruit! He asked me how much the pie weighed. When I said it was a standard mince pie, he said there was no standard size, was it 200g? 300g? Trying to make him understand was ridiculous. When I finally managed to get him to understand it contained raisins and sultanas and our video vet (remember provided by our insurance company, so i know wouldn't send us to a vet unnecessarily!) confirmed it was an emergency with potentially kidney failure or even fatal consequences if left untreated, he told me I should stay off of Google and didn't know what I was talking about! He didn't believe it was a qualified vet who had told me it was an emergency. He fed his dog grapes and raisens all the time, and there was no problem with them. I was so annoyed I hung up on him and rung another vet, who agreed it was an emergency and saw and treated her. Having previously sung their praises, I will never return to Silvergreen for fear of getting a vet who clearly needs to understand English and obviously doesn't know what does and doesn't constitute an emergency!!

I initially thought this vet practice was good because of how they treated us and our dog when she was at end of life. However since going back with our other dog, to say I am disappointed is an understatement. He is a rescue who no-one seems to know if he's been castrated or not. We asked a vet at SilverGreen if she could tell us if he had been or not. She did an examination and said she couldn't say for sure. I asked how we could find out, she said he'd need an operation to look which she didn't advise and instead told me to let him near a female dog in heat to see what he does. I find this highly strange and potentially dangerous! He is a giant size dog who is very young and not yet able to control his emotions. My second gripe is that the same dog broke a claw which exposed the quick, we told it was an emergency for him to be seen so we panicked and took him in. When we saw a vet who didn't even touch our dog, just did a quick look and told us he'd be fine, charged us £50 for a 2 minute conversation and another £100+ for antibiotics 'just in case'. We have since changed to a different vet practice!

These vets are amazing. The ladies at front desk are so lovely and treat you with respect. Unfortunately, our Chester was old and had treatment, both times, absolute outstanding service and sincerity. 2 weeks ago we had to make the decision to have him euthanised. I would just like to say, from the beginning of treatment to the day, would not fault this vets. Highly recommended - thank you Silvergreen
