We are very disappointed with the recent care our horse received from Shotter & Byers. We had many years of excellent care from a long-standing vet who has since left the practice. During a recent emergency, the on-call vet dismissed important context about the horse’s history and largely misdiagnosed him: what was described as a “necrotic mass” later proved to be a simple abscess, now responding well to treatment. We were also concerned by poor record-keeping and lack of continuity. Furthermore, the attending vet overruled the treatment plan we had agreed over the phone and administered injectable penicillin despite our explicit request not to (we had agreed on oral antibiotics). Penicillin injections carry known risks in older PPID horses and are particularly concerning as our horse can be quite sensitive. This experience has undermined our trust, and we no longer have confidence in their care or communication.
Read on Google →Needs to learn to drive. Almost caused an accident going into Rudgwick, swerving all over the place and on their phone. And this is not the first time looking at all the reviews. Disgusted.
Read on Google →Using a phone while driving, shame on you. And then stopping in the junction to Rudgwick off the A281 almost causing an accident, come on now. All on dash-cam… see you on YouTube!
Read on Google →Radical thought this one, maybe don’t use your phone while driving? Over 3 miles from Cheapside to Woodside, you’re swerving and crossing to the other lane / braking for no reason and when I get passed you at Woodside I see phone clearly in your left hand. You look smart enough to know better, so come on, sort yourself out. Especially when from these other reviews it isn’t the first time!
Read on Google →On Saturday 17th of August one of your employees left a dog unattended in a locked car with all the windows up except for a small 3cm gap in the sun roof. I stayed with the car for 20 minutes and called the police. The dog was very distressed and was continually setting off the alarm. This was upsetting for several passers by too, all the more so because the car is owned by a vet!! When the owner returned, he asserted that the dog was not distressed and that we didn’t know as much as he did about animals!! I found him to be obnoxious and arrogant and in no way apologetic about the distress caused to his dog. The true mark of a professional?? He’s a fine advertisement for your company! NOT!
