  We cannot thank Portside Vets enough for the incredible care, kindness and compassion they have shown. From the very beginning, they have treated not only our pet with such dedication and professionalism, but also supported us through every step with understanding and genuine warmth. It is clear how much they truly care about the animals they look after, and that kindness makes all the difference during both the happy moments and the more difficult ones. They always take the time to explain things, reassure us and make sure we feel supported and informed. Knowing our pet is in such caring and capable hands gives us so much comfort and peace of mind. We are deeply grateful for everything they do and feel incredibly lucky to have such an amazing team looking after someone who means so much to us.

  Portside Vets is super efficient, friendly & above all genuinely care for your furry friends, I nearly always see the same vet who has seen my kittens grow, which feels very personal to me, very happy with Portside, easy parking in multi storey at the back

  My dog was due an operation in which brought upon a lot of stress and anxiety beforehand as he is still a puppy. However, upon arrival at the vet’s the morning of, I was met with tones of condescension when regarding my dog’s age - as if challenging my knowledge of how old he is, in which they got his age incorrect. I brushed this off until the time came for collection. Initially, I was told this would be an all-day event which put me at ease as I work throughout the week full time. However, I received a phone call from a woman two hours later detailing that my dog was ONLY just coming off of anaesthetic and was ready for collection. Due to my past experience working in a vet’s in my younger years, this felt hugely unprofessional and dismissive of my dog’s health. When I told her I could not get there immediately, her tone was extremely rude as if my dog was almost an inconvenience to keep for an extra hour. Absolutely horrible experience and would not wish to be treated in that way again. Furthermore, the receptionist also agreed that this was the complete wrong approach. I had also arrived around 15 minutes early than my initial ETA to collect my dog, in which I was patronised for and had to wait around 25 minutes until I could finally collect my dog and discuss post-op aftercare and recovery. My dog was also given no food or water - which I know from experience is part of the protocol. A few reviews already discuss the fact that if you care for your pet’s health, you should take them to another vets - YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE TO. Very disappointed.

  We have been with this vet for a few years and have unfortunately lost a few pet along the way. Portside vets have always been caring and patient which has made the losses a bit better to handle. They give the pets the best care.

  I recently got my ferrets castrated at Portside vets newhaven. Everyone was so lovely including the receptionists, vets and nurses. Beth the student nurse talked me through all the post op care and gave my boys both a bravery award. Pipkin and Pogo were very well looked after, I wish I lived closer as I would love to have Portside as my regular vets.
