A very mixed experience of this practice to date. Spoke to Hornsea and various branches around Hull / E Riding recently, thought the Hornsea receptionist / nursing assistant to sound far more knowledgeable than receptionist at my usual vet, est price given in under 5 minutes, at least £350 & upto £1250 cheaper than other local corporate chain vets, though still £300 ish more than Animal Trust CIC. Having been told I couldn't book a consult, sedate and deal with it a few days ago attempted to book consultation only today, none available Hornsea, tried Beverley. Receptionist here sounded less experienced. Only one appointment available in approx 1.25 hours, I'm probably 45 minutes travel from them so the chances of contacting a former owner to contact a vet to contact them in less than 1/2 hour were remote. The priority here was very clearly the see him and diagnose / put a plan in place, not an immediate request for treatment that needs worry about history from vets who haven't seen him or require involvement of a former owner. I've already told them 3 times could bring copies of old bills from vet but only talking about vaccinations and neutering anyway. Some foolish vet then decides to tell the receptionist that policy and an irrelevant history is more important than the dogs immediate needs. Meanwhile they play a waiting message telling you that if condition is urgent / life threatening make your way to surgery immediately - history or no history! Rcvs guidance is in fact that where history is not immediately available "Initial Assessment & Emergency Care: In an emergency or where a pet's welfare is at risk, the attending vet should make an initial assessment and administer essential treatment before obtaining the clinical history." Far too many "book smarts" with a university education but no common sense, more interested in "policy" than what really matters and a lack of realisation that they are supposed to be a service business I'm afraid. 🤦

The most amazing and kind people. So helpful practice is clean. It smells really nice some Vet smell of disinfectant and it scares our dog but this one doesn’t. I would highly recommend this practice and the empathy and expertise shown by the Vets and the Vet nurse and the receptionist. Thank you for looking after our Cassie today. It means the world to us.

Really caring staff. My 19 year old cat had to be put to sleep on 27th July. They were so caring and helped Tilly pass peacefully. Heather is so understanding and has so much empathy. Following on from the sad day I have just received a sympathy card from the vets enclosing some forget me not seeds to plant on behalf of our beloved Tilly. So thoughtful
