We took our elderly dog on Weds night just after 6.30 after a serious attack by another dog. The initial estimate was £2357.57 which although very high we had no option. They operated and we got a call around 11pm to say she needed collecting as she was so distressed. She was there less than 4 hours. I called the next day to settle the bill and thought it would be less because she didn’t stay overnight. No the bill remained the same. Today they have informed me that the bill is now £1448.98. The 2 invoices are totally different and designed to confuse. 4 human paracetamol just under £14. This bill included no aftercare whatsoever. We are looking into this as it feels totally exploitative and extortionate. Please think twice before using this vets out of hours as it has really made an horrendous situation much worse.

On Sunday, 12 July, at 5 a.m., I called Medivet without expecting anyone to answer at that hour. My beloved cat was 18 years old and had been diagnosed with oral cancer, and I knew the time had come to let her go peacefully. I do not know the name of the nurse who answered the phone, but I want to thank her from the bottom of my heart. From the very first moment, she showed me compassion, patience, understanding and genuine care. The way she spoke to me and treated both me and my little cat made an incredibly painful moment a little easier to bear. I am also deeply grateful to the vet who cared for her and supported us throughout the process. Both of them treated my cat with dignity, tenderness and respect, and they gave me all the time and support I needed. Some people do not simply have a job; they have a true vocation. They are the right people in the right place. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, compassion and support during one of the hardest moments of my life.

Our dog now has no fear of the vets thanks to Kyra. Kyra is such a caring vet who takes time to fuss on our lab, making him feel relaxed and happy, he hardly notices as she expertly checks him out before his monthly pain jab. It makes the visit such a different experience and we can’t recommend her enough.

Contacted this vets on a bank holiday Sunday as I had concerns following my dog’s operation. I spoke with the receptionist, who was absolutely lovely and really helpful. She advised me to send over some photos of the area for a vet to review, which was followed up very quickly. The advice we received was reassuring, put our minds at ease, and even saved us the cost of an emergency call-out. Absolutely fantastic service — thank you for being there for our little pooch💙

I called the practice today as I was really worried about my very small dog, and the receptionist I first spoke to on the phone was so kind and helpful. She reassured me and arranged for us to be seen straight away, which I really appreciated. When we arrived, the young receptionist with dark hair was incredibly friendly and welcoming. She took the time to listen to my concerns without rushing me, which meant a lot. I’m so sorry I didn’t catch her name, but she is a real credit to your practice. The male vet who treated my dog (I believe his name was Jevon, or similar) was fantastic. He was so gentle and calm with my dog, answered all of my questions, and really helped put my mind at ease as I had been very stressed. He is also a real credit to your practice. This was my first visit to this practice and I genuinely can’t fault the care we received. Thank you all for being so kind, caring, and informative , I wouldn’t hesitate to return if needed.
