  Absolutely brilliant hospital for pets. My border terrier broke her tibia and fibia 9weeks ago. Emily put pins and plates in my pups leg and saved it. All of them are outstanding and the cleanliness of the place is better than a hospital for humans if I'm honest! Immaculate! They gave me updates on my Willow to let me know each step of the way she was cared for as i was in bits. I honestly can not fault the place at all, don't ever worry about your pet here because i can guarantee they will be well looked after.

  Elmo was referred by our usual vet to the neurology team - we were seen by Fabio within 2 working days. When we got to the practice, we were welcomed into their calming and comfortable waiting area. Fabio was so caring, informative, and compassionate during the consultation. Elmo went through some testing and an MRI and Fabio himself kept men informed throughout the day and provided a full report on any results and discussed next steps with us in depth and happy to spend any extra time with us to answer any questions we had. I have never felt so comfortable leaving a pet with a vet as I did with Fabio and his intern. I will forever be grateful to Fabio for his time, knowledge and empathy.

  Ill start with 1 star is to generous for this place if i could leave minus stars i would. We were sent here by our local Vet as our 7 year old lab had a blockage in his intestines, our local Vet did the Op to clear the blockage but it was so large she had to make 4 cuts in the intestines, so came with 4 times the risk. The Op cost us £3000 as lab is not insured. We told our local vet this was every penny we had. He needed to go to Wear referals over night after the Op. Our Vet spoke to Wear Referals and advised of our situation and that our dog would only need to be on the "ward". When we got to Wear we were met by the rudest Vet I have ever came across, the first thing she said was " I know your vet told you £500 for tonight but its going to be more like £1000. We out right said we cant afford that and I would just take my dog home and care for him there, they refused to let me do that and said we will try to keep costs down but you must pay £400 now. Next day we go to pick him up and told bill is £800 so another £400 needed now, the vet then walked my dog outside after major abdominal surgery had no control over him and let him jump up into the boot of our car.... I was gob smacked and all I got was "im sorry I didnt think he would do that". Our big lad is 9 days post Op and things are not looking great due to infections. Keep everything crossed for him. All i can say is avoid this place like the plague, all they want is your money thats all they care about. If you do need to use them just prepair yourself.

  My dog Murphy was referred here by our gp vets following unusual high thyroid levels unfortunately a cancerous mass was found and then removed a day later. All the staff at Wear Referrals couldn’t of shown more kindness and all staff we encountered extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend them to anyone and can’t thank them enough- Valentina, Jon and Alicia to name a few.

  Fabio has been absolutely amazing while looking after my cat, Mr Glitter Sparkles. From the moment he stepped in, it was clear how much he genuinely cares about animals and their wellbeing. My fur-baby recently lost the use of his back legs, and Fabio has gone above and beyond—not only providing attentive care but also helping to identify what might have caused the issue. He’s been patient, compassionate, and incredibly thorough, always keeping me updated and making sure my cat is as comfortable and supported as possible. It’s such a relief knowing my baby is in safe and capable hands during a really stressful time. I’m truly grateful for his dedication and kindness, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Fabio to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and deeply caring to look after their pets. Hopefully bringing my fur-baby home tomorrow 🙏🏽💖🐈✨
