  We last used Chess Rickmansworth 9 years ago before our beloved cats died. We never had any problems with them, so I looked into using them again when we rescued a kitten, despite having moved out of the area. From my first phone call to enquire about their services, I had no hesitation in returning to them. The receptionist was incredibly friendly and greeted me like an old friend when he realised we had been with them before. Since joining them, the service has been exceptional. I have received helpful advice, been able to book and swap appointments easily, and even when I was late to an appointment (neverending roadworks in Ricky) I have always been treated kindly and made to feel incredibly valued. Both my kitten and my teenage daughter were made a huge fuss of by staff and from comparing other vets prices online (if you can find them), Chess is very reasonable. Couldn’t be happier with our choice, we are delighted to be back with Chess Ricky. Thanks to everyone involved for your care so far!

  Excellent practice. We had an emergency right before bank holiday. Friendly receptionists who helped book us in right away even whilst I was in tears on the phone. Upon arrival everyone was expecting us and we were seen very quickly. The vet Andy was highly experienced and helped our poor cat quickly. My cat who is frightened of all strangers took to him so well. After a few injections and medication later. We were on our way. I cried so much in the vet room and I was not made to feel silly. Just empathy and grace shown towards my pet and me. Upon leaving again dealt with the two amazing receptionists. They are so friendly, warm and put any patients and their families at ease. Highly recommend to all especially as new pet owners. Our cat had his kitten vaccinations here too and the same great experience.

  Absolutely dreadful vets. Really rude and officious reception staff, in my experience they don’t care about animals, they put my lovely friendly docile golden retriever in this cage!

  We adopted Blue, the GSD from the Halfway House pub, when his owners died. We had him for 18 wonderful months before he suddenly just died on the 12 Feb. Chess vets had known Blue all his life and were there for him at the end when we needed help. Friendly, helpful and genuine people. Thank you all. Maxine and family..x
