I felt this practice was far too Trigger Happy to push euthanasia rather than explore reasonable treatment options. From the outset, the nurse — who was only checking for a microchip and did not medically examine my cat — repeatedly tried to justify euthanasia. Important information was withheld, including the fact that the ulcer could potentially have been drained rather than surgically cut. The vet who examined my cat was slightly more balanced and did outline additional options (highly priced), but was very reluctant to proceed with treatment. Much of the reasoning seemed to focus on the cat’s potential discomfort with fur clipping or a hospital stay, rather than medical necessity. Overall, euthanasia appeared to be treated as the easiest option for the clinic rather than a last resort, which I found deeply concerning.
Read on Google →Wanstead have been excellent in their care for my wonderful tuxedo cat, Bertie. Bertie had a bladder operation after several investigations by the Hackney branch. They’ve handled his care with the upmost kindness at all times to both Bertie and me, which I’ve been incredibly grateful for. The nurses and receptionists were brilliant at keeping me updated on his treatment when he was an in patient, and vets have been excellent at both the surgery itself, being fastidious in making sure everything was being sorted, and the after care. I felt well informed and supported at every point. Also worth noting the super quick response times to me at every point, even finding him a cancellation slot for earlier surgery. I am so grateful that Bertie is on his recovery journey and know that if there’s any further issues, Bertie and I can trust the hospital to get him better.
Read on Google →I would not recommend this veterinary practice. Over the four and a half years we used their services, their standards have declined terribly. The vets often failed to communicate properly, ignored key symptoms, and withheld important information. My dog’s cancer could have been diagnosed months earlier if the vet had shared the differential of tumour instead of dismissing her symptoms as allergies. Another vet misdiagnosed a seizure as food poisoning, charting THC poisoning in his notes saying to my face that it was wheat allergies. Their notes were inconsistent, and staff were dismissive when I questioned their approach or asked for imaging instead of basic tests such as blood exams. When my dog became critically ill, they kept her under observation for over 17 hours without diagnostics or treatment, refused to release her to the other hospital until I fully paid the bill of over £2,000, showing no urgency or compassion, even in time sensitive circunstances. They did not complete the blood exams once I moved her to another hospital, although all had been paid. At the other hospital, a CT scan quickly revealed a large nasal tumour that had caused severe brain damage. The damage was so extensive we had to let her go. This practice failed my dog at every stage, through poor communication, lack of transparency, and misplaced priorities. Their actions robbed us of time, treatment options, and peace. Although they have the equipment in house, the main reason I registered with them, they do not have the staff trained to use them, only on specific days. When we needed it, there was "no capacity". Even after I submitted a complaint, they denied any wrongdoing or negligence. This experience with them has left me significantly traumatized, even a year and a half later. I regret trusting them with my dog, she deserved so much more than she got. Save yourself the trouble and suffering, and don't take your pets here. Find somewhere that cares.
Read on Google →10/10/25 Saturday Today was a sad day. Our sweet 18½ year old cat Lady suffered a stroke. Our vets was closed and I managed to get through to a lovely young lady on the emergency number who took brief details and said she would get a team ready for our arrival. As we walked in with Lady cradled in a blanket 25/30 mins later that young lady saw us and got straight on the phone to alert the team. We didn't have time to breath, Lady was whisked away with a quick explanation of what was happening. We were shown to a quiet room as we were clearly distressed. We instructed no resuss due to what was happening and Ladys age, and requested that we be present knowing the end was near. We were constantly updated. The important message that Lady was sedated and had pain meds was a relief. Lady had had a stroke. Her age to us was fantastic she had a great lazy life, pampered! It wasn't fair to push her into staying so the decision to let her rest was agreed by us all. I think the wonderful vet was Cherrildine. She was the most caring and considerate person. She explained everything. She gave us time. Nothing was too much trouble. She went above and beyond. Thank you. We were in such a whirlwind that any names are a blur . The receptionist, all the nurses involved and the Vet. Were all AMAZING. We can't thank you all enough for making such a sad time go so smoothly. Keep doing what you do. Thank you and all the very best Sharmayne and Les Chilvers
Read on Google →Had a great experience here with my cat who was dealing with a (luckily!) minor, but painful injury - receptionists were kind and quick, and managed to get me an appointment within 2 hours on a busy Bank Holiday weekend. Once at the vets, all went smoothly - there's a nice, open waiting area with plenty of space for cats to chill out and steer clear of any curious dogs! Friendly consultation with vet and plenty of help from the receptionists with pet insurance queries etc. Thanks so much!! :)
