Very sad day taking my Ruby to be put to sleep. We were allowed to be with her throughout. Everyone was kind and gentle. She was very unwell. We are awaiting her ashes to collect. Thank you all so much for making this process easier and inclusive. I held her while she went to sleep.

Our spaniel cut her leg on barbed wire whilst we were on holiday - Friday evening and we needed a vet. . Kate Carmichael was marvellous- professional, efficient and kind ( to dog and us owners!) Did a great job in dealing with the wound and charges were reasonable too.

  • Thank you so much for saving our little Bella during her pollen poisoning. The urgency, care and support our family received during this traumatic time was overwhelming and extremely appreciated. Thank you everyone involved, but a special shout out to Kate who overseen Bella’s care out of hours as an urgency 🥰 (Picture of us visiting Bella during her stay in kitty hospital where the team looked after us and supported us with Bella’s updates)

So glad we used Flett & Carmichael. From the outset, our experience was fantastic. As new incomers to Orkney islands and temporary residents, we needed to have our elderly dog checked over as we had some concerns over changes in eating habits. Not registered in the area, we contacted both vets on Mainland, same initial questions, seeking registration and price information. F&C came back right away and we had lengthy discussion over email first before walking through the door, Gillian the RVN and clinical administrator talked us through everything and detailed options and costs. Nothing was too much trouble, even before we walked in the door the service was outstanding. Needless to say, we didn't even get a response from Northvet. On arrival to our appointment, the atmosphere was calm and friendly. We had asked for some additional information to be printed out to make it easier to communicate during the appointment. We were never made to feel awkward or time wasting. John, the vet who attended our appointment for Pete, was careful to listen to all our concerns to assess and direct where he felt the treatment was most needed, he gave Pete a thorough exam. We never felt rushed. We got exactly the help and guidance we needed in addition, alternative options were discussed if needed. Results were phoned through promptly and sensitively. Everyone at the practice was lovely and we were really impressed by the high standard of care and communication. Thank you
