    About this practice

    Community Pet Clinic in Norwich

Community Petcare Clinic is a full-service veterinary clinic offering general examinations, vaccinations, parasite control and prevention, and general surgery. The clinic also has an in-house laboratory and provides digital X-rays. While specific animal types are not listed, the services mentioned, such as canine services and spay/neuter surgery, suggest they primarily cater to companion animals like dogs.

The clinic's team focuses on working with pet owners to plan treatments that align with their pet's needs, their lifestyle, and their budget. They recommend a 'Preferred Spay and Neuter' option, suggesting a focus on patient safety during anaesthesia for surgical procedures.

To schedule a spay or neuter surgery, clients must first book a pre-surgical examination. A deposit is required to reserve a surgery slot, which is refundable if cancelled 48 hours in advance. Prices for services are subject to change, and an additional medical waste fee applies to injections and laboratory services.

This veterinary practice demonstrates a profound lack of competence, accountability, and respect for basic clinical standards. After a physical examination, my dog was visibly bleeding. This was not documented in her medical records. When I questioned this serious omission, I was told: “No notes were taken, so we cannot comment.” Using the absence of notes to avoid responsibility is unacceptable and raises serious concerns regarding patient safety, transparency, and professional integrity. My dog’s medical file contains multiple contradictory entries, none of which the practice is willing to acknowledge or correct. Complaints are not investigated; they are dismissed. Errors are denied rather than addressed. I was also given conflicting and misleading information regarding legal obligations. I was initially told it was a legal requirement to bring my dog in before anti-inflammatory medication could be dispensed for her torn ligament. This was later retracted and reframed as being at the vet’s discretion. Providing false or misleading information about legal obligations in order to compel attendance is entirely inappropriate and further undermines trust in this practice. I was given verbal medication instructions that directly conflicted with the dosage printed on the antibiotic packaging. When this discrepancy was raised, responsibility was again deflected, with staff claiming it is the client’s responsibility to verify instructions. Transferring clinical responsibility to clients for inconsistent or incorrect guidance is negligent and unsafe. An invasive examination was performed without prior discussion, explanation, or informed consent. I was later told that it was my responsibility to seek consent. This is indefensible. Consent must be clearly explained and explicitly obtained by the veterinary professional. Expecting a client to object to a procedure they were never informed would take place is a fundamental breach of professional standards. The cumulative failures in record-keeping, communication, medication guidance, consent, and honesty demonstrate a disregard for animal welfare and a complete erosion of client trust. I have no confidence in the competence or ethics of this practice and will be removing my dog from their care immediately. I strongly advise others to consider doing the same.

Amazing practice! Although my dog was really nervous and scared, the lovely vet managed to calm him down and was really friendly and gentle with him. Booking appointments is so easy and straightforward a their working hours allow working people to make time for their pets health! I highly recommend it!

Really appreciate the advice, care and time that Gustavo gave me on Wednesday. This is a superb practice with great staff from the receptionist to the vet. I can't recommend Medivet highly enough. Thank you.

We have been registered at Hellesdon vets for 9 years and can highly recommend this practice. I have always received great care for my pets. Reception staff , nursing staff and all vets have been outstanding and more than met the needs of my very precious dog/cat family. They provide the personal touch that is so needed during the difficult times experienced with poorly pets and nothing seems too much trouble, going the extra mile to provide reassurance and support. Thank you! 5stars from us

So pleased I transferred my little Jack-Chi to this practice, from a different local Medivet practice. The receptionists here are always so friendly and welcoming. My dog was shaking uncontrollably with anxiety and both the receptionist and the Vet, were so kind, trying to calm her. The Vet was very thorough with her bi-annual health check. Even when administering the kennel cough vaccine and other vaccines by injection, my dog didn’t bear her teeth or attempt to nip him! This is the first time ever, she hasn’t shown some kind of warning in these circumstances. I feel that this is totally down to the Vets positive demeanour and gentle handling of her. The team at Medivet Hellesdon are very professional, cheerful and friendly manner- which I feel is a must, for both animals and owners alike. Thank you Medivet Hellesdon! Keep up the great work!! 😃
