Generations of my dog friends have loved visiting Birch Vets which I acknowledge is not usual - but everyone is so lovely here. They’ve always taken great care of my friends. Erza thinks a trip to the vets is a wonderful outing!

About a year ago, I found a cat on the street, and tried to find an owner. My previous vet claimed that there was no information on the microchip, and they were trying to get me out their practice as soon as possible, not willing to as much as let me clean up after that cat dirtied the carrier I brought it in. I was looking for a vet that would at least do a basic check-up free of charge, so I could keep that cat along with my own pets until I'd find the owner, and no one agreed to do that but Birch vets. They scanned the microchip again, and it turned out there was an owner listed there. They were happy to help reunite it with the owner, and even gave me a call back when the cat was picked up. I moved all of my pets to their practice after that, seeing how loving and compassionate they are about helping the animals. They were endlessly understanding when I had to reschedule my cat's castration several times due to him having an ongoing issue, which they eventually also helped me to sort out. What was the most surprising was that when it came to paying for the castration, I was actually charged less than previously agreed, as they "adjusted the prices", which was even more encouraging to see. I never before had been in a situation where the "price adjustment" meant actually a lower price! Whenever I've got a minor issue and phone in to ask a silly little question, they're happy to help. When I needed to get my cat a consultation ASAP, they literally booked it for the next day. They also checked the microchips of all my cats after telling me that each vet should do that a while after putting one in, as they sometimes come out during the healing process, which none of the other vets ever told me. They never rush, are always compassionate, and know exactly how to calm you down when you're so stressed about your pets having an issue. Wouldn't recommend any other vet locally more than them. I feel incredibly safe trusting them with my pets.

I left Vets4pets after they provided me with out of date insulin for my cat. At Birch it is much friendlier. The waiting room is more spacious and divided for cats and dogs. More important I see the same vet each time and she provides me with first class advice and service.

We used this vets years ago. They use to be highly rated. Recently we've had a poorly cat and had to visit a few times. Each time the receptionist had a right depressed mouth on her. The vets didn't really seem to care much, once your in there they want you out. They only seem to care for money, not the animals. Unfortunately this cat has passed, will never use again this vets again in the future with other pets. Spoke to multiple people which have had the same opinion. It's a shame. They use to be really good, but as everywhere these days. Dropping standards just for money.

We moved to this practice after multiple bad experiences at our last practice and couldn’t be happier. We’ve just had our 1 year old collie spayed and she came home happy even immediately following the procedure. She was clearly well looked after and we were told she had lots of cuddles (which she clearly did, I’ve never seen a dog come out of surgery so happy!). The reception team are always friendly and helpful. There was a mistake with our flea&wormer order but this was fixed within a couple of minutes with no fuss. The team are all very knowledgeable and clearly care a lot about their work. The only downside is parking can be a little tricky as the road is small and there isn’t a lot of spaces.
