  We've taken cats to this practice on a number of occasions. Two recent visits was an older cat with thyroid, and heart issues who was easily stressed and another who needed an injured eye surgically removed. Both were treated exceptionally well and with real compassion and concern. The surgery on the eye was done by someone with serious skills and the wound is healing well. The price for the surgery was very reasonable and was similar to what we paid for the same 15 years ago at a different practice! They deal well with emergencies and their over-the-phone advice is excellent. The only downside really is their lack of weekend opening hours although emergencies can still be taken (at a higher visitation rate).

  We were on holiday in the area with our two dogs, one of which (a 17 week old puppy) picked up a tick that we were unable to remove completely. Not wishing to take any chances, we called the practice and were offered an appointment the same day. Everyone at the practice – vet, nurse and receptionists – was extremely friendly and helpful, and our puppy seemed perfectly relaxed and happy at the attention! We often spend our holidays in the area and it is reassuring to know that there is such a superb and helpful practice nearby if you need them. A huge thank you to all the staff.

  Be extremely cautious with Kenny. Our dog had a limp that our local vets couldn't figure out. We took our dog Brad to Ben Nevis vets for a second opinion. An Xray showed a fracture from bone cancer. The cancer had also just spread to the lungs. Kenny the vet insisted our dog was euthanasised immediately. We appreciated his advice but "immediately" was an overkil. After all, as much as Brad hated going to the vets and was clearly stressed and out of breath, as far as he was concerned he only had a limp. When we got him home he was perfectly happy with a limp. We've seen him in pain when he's been hurt in the past and he wasn't showing pain now. He was eating well, going to the toilet and demanding walks. We knew he didn't have long left before we would have to put him to sleep. We requested repeatedly for Kenny to send information to our local vets so we could get the recommended medication and also arrange for a euthanasiation in the coming weeks but Kenny ignored all our requests. Instead what he had done was send the Xray to his mates at other vets and tell a dramatic story to the SPCA. A couple of days after hurting Kenny's ego we had a animal welfare officer, who admitted she wasn't qualified to assess our dog, and six police officers attend my recently widowed mother's static caravan and forcibly execute our dog. There was our three children between the ages of four and ten witnesses the most horrific and unimaginable situation. And to finish it off, because we didn't do as Kenny demanded, there's criminal charges being made against us for animal cruelty. If you love your animal and cared unconditionally for 14 years at no expense knowing that you're in tune with it's needs and you clearly want what's best. And you know deep down that he's not quite ready to leave just yet, shouldn't you get a say and have a moment to spoil them? The police officers and newspapers we've spoken to say they've never seen anything like this. It's absolutely disgusting and Kenny should have his licence removed for this sever lack of judgement acting on power and ego. This is a photo of our dog on his own little walk less than an hour before his life was taken from us.

  The team always go above and beyond for our cats. Recently our senior cat has needed quite a few appointments and the team went out of their way to keep the price affordable and minimise the number of times we had to make the journey. Everyone is super caring, patient, and gentle. I wouldn’t take my pets anywhere else.

  Cannot praise this vets highly enough. We recently had to have our old dog Tia put to sleep and we were treated with such kindness by the staff, especially Doug who had the task of sending Tia Over the rainbow Bridge. He was truly amazing. We also received a condolence card containing poppy seeds to plant in her memory. This card was signed by everyone at the vet, A gesture that has been highly appreciated.
