Fantastic vets practice, staff are amazing and extremely friendly. Been with them for around 16 years. Best vets I've ever had. 😀

Have been taking my guinea pigs here since January 2020 - nothing short of excellent service every time we go. Though I want to highlight the most recent experience with one of my guinea pigs, Lola. She had an issue with her teeth and Nia admitted her to be done on Monday. As we have had massive snowfall, they were shortstaffed, but Kevin still managed to get Lola done and she was home at 6pm eating and enjoying being home. They took such good care of her despite the weather, I am beyond grateful that she didn't have to wait. We had complicated cases as well such as, a guinea pig with asthma, a guinea pig with lung cancer, another one with tumors along his jaw - all diagnosed by Kevin, and I was given multiple options and thorough discussions if further tests would provide more treatment options, or would cause more stress. I always feel that when I go to Ashgrove vets here at Belmont Road, that I will be treated with respect, kindness and understanding and that my guinea pigs will get top level care despite being so small. So far we have seen Kevin, Nia, Victoria, Holly, Lesley and Lindsay - all brilliant with small animals too! A huge thanks as well to the whole reception team, my calls are mostly answered by Kim, Lauren or Brenda, they are always super helpful! Highly recommend this practice for any of your pets, but specifically, if you are looking for exotics savvy vets - this is THE practice. :)

Contacted this practice in regards to getting a blood test done for my dog as a matter of urgency as my practice don’t offer this. Was assured they did in house testing with same day results but I had to register my dog first. Went through the hassle of registering my dog and waiting days for confirmation of registration only to have to contact the practice again to be told my application was still pending but they’d sort that right out for me straight away and give me a call back. Waited 2 hours and called them to then be told that they still hadn’t done it despite me explaining it was a matter of urgency. They finally got back to me only for them to tell me that they don’t do in house testing despite assuring me over the phone days earlier that they offered this service before I registered my dog. What a waste of my time. Reception staff clearly don’t liaise with the vets before giving out false information and wasting peoples time.

This is unfortunately one of the worst practices I ever had to deal with. My dog was seen by someone, I accepted to go ahead with Librela. (i read lots about the negative side effects but felt like it's worth to take the risk if it means my dog might get better, he was 16 and started struggling a lot more in the recent months) I asked the vet what they think about the side effects (seizures and cases of death) the vet assured me there are minor effects like drinking more water, nothing serious. I was told more about the price difference in between this and another cheaper option. It was emphasized that he will act a lot younger and that I have to keep in mind his age and to take it slow even if he would want to run, etc... Nothing about the potential negative effects of the drug. He started having severe diarrhea, twitching, crying, acting way worse then before. Called the practice and requested a call from a vet. I didn't want to bring him in due to how uncomfortable he already was. Receptionist told me that since it's a Monday it will be unlikely to hear back from them as the vets are very busy. (3 prcatices and not one vet could speak to me for 5 min about a dog in this state) Funny how I could however book an appointment for the same day. The receptionist was heartless to say the least. It took 2 days to get a call back even tho I explained how he is reacting badly to the Librela in both email and call. By then I already took him to another vet but sadly we had to put my dog down a week ago, just after a month of taking the first Librela as he was not improving and deteriorating even faster then before the "treatment". Like probably a lot of vets in the UK, these people only care about money, without even having the skills to deserve it.

Was with Ashgrove Vets from 2021 - 2024; unfortunately, no longer with them due to relocation. We own budgies and Ashgrove Vets were pleasant to work with. We were seen on the same day or within the week. Thankfully, we were able to stay within vicinity, but handy to have the Peterculter branch if needed to be seen asap. We mostly dealt with their vets Kevin or Lindsay for check-ups; they were knowledgeable and had possible treatment plans if needed. Thankfully, we did not need extensive care plans and were able to alleviate any health issues after meeting the vets. Their receptionist Neve was kind and helpful for the times our birds needed to be seen. Their reception staff were professional and were helpful. The only fault was the parking, being near a busy junction meant it is a nightmare and it's really down to luck 😅 Overall, from our interactions and dealings, we are grateful to have been with them. Unfortunately, we lost 2 flock members this year and Ashgrove Vets showed us compassion and were thoughtful in sending out a sympathy card and were gracious in helping us navigate through the aftercare of losing a pet.
