Been using the practice for many years for all of our animals and have never had a bad experience. From the receptionists to the vets, everyone is always so accommodating and friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone, same goes for their Cwmavon practice also ☺️
Read on Google →Came in with my cat Ember and saw Emily for a check up/first appointment. Everyone is SO lovely and it’s really nice that they take the time to do the check up, not rushing Ember when she’s already nervous/scared. Answered any questions I asked and have signed up to the plan already. Thank you all!
Read on Google →My family and I have used Afon Vets for our different pets over many years. I've always found the Vets and their staff to be friendly and have your pet's best interests at heart and have never felt pressurised into having any unnecessary treatments. The Vets always explain everything clearly and give you time to reach your own decisions.
Read on Google →I’ve sadly lost faith in Afon Vets after two very upsetting experiences with my cat, a couple of years apart. The first time she went in, she was lethargic but stable. When we collected her, she was far worse — completely limp and unresponsive. We hadn’t been warned she might be in that state, so it was a huge shock when we took her out of the carrier. We genuinely thought she was going to die. The second time, a couple of years later, she needed surgery to remove a furball. There were complications, and sadly she didn’t survive. Communication throughout was poor — we were told the surgery would cost £1,000–£1,300, but the bill suddenly increased to £1,700 without any consultation, and ended up being over £1,900. While we would have paid anything to save her, it felt very lacking in transparency and compassion. Overall, both experiences left us feeling extremely let down.
Read on Google →Myself and my daughter had to take our beloved Bonnie Star early hours of Tuesday morning to neath. Unfortunately she was so poorly she could not be saved. The vet on call Alice and the nurse who accompanied her were just out of this world. They treated bonnie with love, care and empathy and I cannot thank them enough. Our hearts are aching and in pain but I know that she is at peace and we will love her forever
