The vet at Hawksdown could not have been more helpful, and we were able to get a prescription emailed which we then collected on a Saturday morning. Great to know this fantastic practice is here if we ever needed it in the future, and if we lived in the area we would happily have this as our regular surgery. Thank you! John, the vet is wonderful and has cared brilliantly for Mabel,my rather complex cats needs for the past 3.6 years. He’s always at the end of a phone for reassurance and will see me quickly if it’s really necessary. I like the fact that he’s direct, with a good sense of humour and he’s never tried to sell me lots of expensive drugs and treatments. It’s a pleasure to see a proper ‘old school’ vet with years of experience who knows what’s what. Over all these years, Mr Donnell and Mr Best have cared for 6 of my animals through general annual check ups to many different injuries and ailments, all with gentle and informative responses. They know that I will ask questions & they're happy to answer, even on the phone out of hours if necessary. A drug is not administered unless its needed & again it will be described in detail for me, regarding what the ingredients are, what they are expected to treat and possible side effects.. Its always clean, well organised, the dogs are happy to go in, which I think is probably the best testament! It isn't easy to find a vet who is both very knowledgeable and good with owners too but Mr Donnell definitely is one of them. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this practice and have indeed done so, many times.
