They never once suggested royal canim recovery food , we had to think of that one ourselves. They told us twice that it would be a good option to put our cat down. Our cat got a whole happy 2 years before he got ill again and passed away. Thank god we decided not to listen. Their whole attitude and lack of compassion is just astonishing. I used to go to Vets 4 Pets in Farnham but since Roger was let go, they have gone drastically downhill. So I thought I would try a local independent vet, where we would see just the one vet who would get to know my cats and treat and care for them just as Roger had. So I turned up with one of my cats in a cat carrying bag, all safe and tucked up with me. She travels this way as she gets very stressed and tends to get UTIs when she visits the vet. There is nothing wrong this carry bag and it is quite safe, she is zipped into it and it is on my shoulder so she is safely tucked up underneath my arm. As long as she is near me and can feel me, she is fine and not as stressed out as she would be in a carrier. So we arrived there and I was told that she needed to be in a carrier. When I explained why I was told that the vet wouldn't accept it and was told to go outside and wait outside to be called in. Bearing in mind, this is my first time in this practice, so I was a bit disgruntled to be treated so shabbily. Next thing is I get a phone call from the receptionist saying that the vet wouldn't see us because she wasn't in a carrier!! At this point, I said I wasn't going back. I got home and got an email from the vet calling himself DOCTOR Johnson saying they were withdrawing Veterinary services. As none of my cats had received any veterinary services, it is a bit difficult to withdraw services never provided. And that there were notices in the waiting room saying cats had to be in carriers but as I pointed out, I didn't get much time in the waiting room before being told to leave. This is all about the safety of my cat. How can she be any safer if she is tucked up in my arms? Also, I really don't think there was any reason to email me to withdraw their services. I am the customer and I decide who I want to treat my cats, not some arrogant prat who thinks that because he is a doctor he can act like a dictator. If he was a G.P., he would have been sacked for his poor attitude towards patients. What was really bad was that instead of having the balls to talk to me, he did it through his staff and then by email. So it shows what an arrogant, spineless bully he is if he can't fight his own battles. And if he cared for animals, he would also understand that I was doing all I could to keep my cat as stressfree as possible, with her welfare in mind. So his attitude clearly shows he cares more about himself than he does animals and I wouldn't let him anywhere near me let alone my cats. If I could give a minus star rating I would. If I were you and looking for a local caring vet, I would give Ash House Vets a miss. The staff are lovely but their boss is a world class plonker! I owed many many pets in my life and I have never felt so robbed. Less than 10min in the premises and an £8 eye drop to get out with a 100£ bill. I get a consult can be around 60-70£ but that’s a bit steep when the vet didn’t even touch the dog. No health check besides a look at the eye with conjunctivitis from a distance. No question on history or anything else. The bill is still making me feel sick. Never been a customer. A very friendly receptionist booked me in for 9.40, and gave me a lot of advice. I didn't need any papers or history proof. Came late as not having a cage, my cat ran off and had to chase him. It was not a problem, and in fact I was given a free cage for the cat which i took home. The vet was super friendly, i was invited in, he explained everything and in my opinion was very professional. i have paid less for the visit that I was asked at PetsHome. After treatment, again very friendly staff.
